We are here to help parents & educators

The MTT Team

We’re passionate teachers who believe that learning should be fun, flexible, research backed and fit into your family’s lifestyle. With a combined 50+ years of teaching experience, we know how to engage kids in creative, meaningful ways—whether it’s through catchy songs, real-world maths or inspiring stories.

We’ve taught in classrooms, online, on remote stations, homeschooled & taught overseas. We understand the unique challenges that come with learning on the move because our teachers have lived them!

We bring our love for travel and adventure into every lesson—helping kids stay on track, get excited about learning and feel supported🚐📚✨

We only employ registered and experienced teachers who we match to your child’s needs. Your family will have the same teacher each week and MTT is registered with the Australian Tutoring Association

From 4 to 14, your child is catered to.

Teacher bios and how MTT started...

It started, as many good stories do, around a campfire with a notebook. I’m Lynda, an intervention teacher turned travelling tutor and the founder of My Travelling Teacher. After years helping students in crowded classrooms build up their confidence in Literacy and Numeracy, I saw first-hand how powerful targeted support can be. I also saw how overwhelmed both teachers and parents were as they tried to do it all with limited time and even less support.

I’ve always loved diving into data, exploring evidence-based teaching methods and seeing how small-group or one-on-one sessions could completely shift a child’s attitude toward learning. But eventually, the travel Australia lifestyle started calling. My husband, our golden retriever and I packed up to hit the road. Ripping off our caravan mirror as we reversed out the shed wasn’t the best start to the trip…

While travelling, I found myself surrounded by families in caravan parks asking the same questions I’d heard in schools. Why is helping my child so hard? Distance education was draining them. Home schooling felt confusing and unsupported. They were navigating dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, autism, all while trying to plan the next destination, cook dinner, work and keep their kids engaged.

Many were ready to cut their travels short just to find relief!

So I started helping. A few quick free tutoring sessions here and there gave parents a break, boosted kids’ confidence, they learnt new skills and it reminded me how much I love this 1:1 teaching style. Those chats under awnings and around firepits turned into online sessions so students could access me from anywhere their travels took them.

Eventually, I returned to my school job, but I couldn’t ignore what was growing. I was up at 5:30am tutoring, then working 5 days in a school and tutoring again in the evenings. That’s when I brought in help. Kate, Emily and Natasha, all experienced teachers and travelling or homeschooling mums, joined the team.

Now, our team at My Travelling Teacher help families across Australia access flexible, personalised, curriculum-aligned learning from anywhere. Whether your child is doing distance ed, homeschooling, or enrolled in a private school, we help make learning manageable again.

We give parents space to breathe. We help kids reconnect with their learning. We are one less pick up and drop off after school…and we make it all possible with no lock-in contracts. We value flexibility, travel and quality education – just like you do!
